“The simplest way is always the best way and the more room you give the audience to invest in the storytelling, the more invested and engaged they will be. Merely fill the need of the story, in the moment. This sometimes means just being a present support and not do anything. I keep being reminded how difficult it is to make something which is simple and elegant. You have to listen deeply and distill all the extraneous material to be able to see what the project really needs. Be efficient and deliberate. Get the ego out of the way of the story, so the story can have its own life beyond the performer.”
